Egg Hunt

Torben is becoming an old hat at Easter shenanigans. He gets better at coloring eggs, finding them and most importantly finding the Easter nest wherever it may be hiding. Ohh, did I mention mention the love of the chocolate bunny is also increasing?

Finally a Post!

It has been sometime monkey fans, our apologies. Though belated here are a few pics of the weeks Torben recently spent in Milwaukee with grandparents, cousins and most importantly the trains which abound in that world. We managed a trip up to Green Bay, WI to see the National Railroad Museum. Torben got to play on the real life engines, railcars and other railroad equipment. Alas, the train ride was not in season and the movie equipment was being repaired, but this left more time for climbing, exploring and turning knobs. We also discovered to our delight that the museum contained several English steam locomotives - one was Gen. Eisenhower's command train in WWII - and of course a small tank engine which looked just like Thomas (minus the painted faces and googly eyes.

The first three pictures are of the biggest steam locomotive ever seen on the rails, aptly dubbed the "Big Boy". Well our little boy sure got a work out on the thing running laps around it.
There he is, giving the engine a little bit of scale.
Ohh boy I wish I could drive this thing, wait a minute, I will show you how it works.....come see! Come see!

This one controls the fire, this one the electrical, this one makes it fly, this one makes it go toot toot!, this one...what does this one do again? (Dad) It controls pressure. Right, this one controls pressure, this is the lever that makes it go.....

Torben inspects the pressure gauge, gotta make sure you have enough steam.

Torben operates the firebox in the Mallard for Gen. D. Eisenhower's command train. Get the general were he needs to go Torben!

I've been working on the railroad, all the live long day....
